Student street theatre
Author: Jill Nicholls Year: May 1972
Cambridge Women’s Liberation and supporters in Men Against Sexism did street theatre with dressings up and megaphone in the market square. I can’t remember the specific message that day but general anti sex stereotyping. The women’s group also invaded men’s colleges to protest them not accepting women students. We’d go in with whistles and drums during formal hall while the men were eating their dinner. They were very surprised indeed and it proved very successful.
